How long do your baked goods last?

This is a great question. At Blue River Bakery we do not use preservatives, they contain unnatural ingredients and impair the quality and flavor of bread and pastries. All of our products come labeled with a use by date, but as we all know baked goods will stale over time if not stored correctly. Our products are best enjoyed within 3 days and kept in a closed bag or container for optimal flavor and texture, but are still really delicious and safe to eat for up to the use by date on the packaging. Our products also freeze very well and are safe to enjoy out of your freezer if frozen for up to 90 days from the delivery date.

What is a "Batard"?

When bread isn't shaped like a traditional loaf, baguette or a round, and is something in between, it is called a bâtard. Our artisan loaves are all hand made and therefore are considered "illegitimate loaves" – awkwardly sized between a baguette and a loaf. They have a thick crust and don't take it personally. Don't worry.

What is a "Deli" loaf?

A traditionally shaped loaf of bread that is pre-sliced 1/2 an inch thick. Prefect for deli sandwiches; hence the name. Our deli loaves are big, with a 2 pound pre-bake weight. They typically end up having between 20 and 22 slices.

What are the ingredients?

A full nutritional panel with ingredients is labeled on each product, and is also part of the image gallery in our store.

Do you offer gluten free products?

We do not offer gluten free products at this time. We are just getting started and commissary out of a commercial kitchen that is not gluten free, so we are unable to safely offer anything under gluten free requirements.

Where do you deliver?

We are currently able to deliver anywhere within the city of Denver, and look forward to expanding to more cities in the Denver area soon.

Do you have a store I can visit?

We only have the commissary kitchen and our delivery van right now, but we would love to have a storefront where customers can pick up their orders some day. Not having a storefront reduces our costs and allows us to keep our pricing down for now, so it is not such a bad thing. We do have a goal of opening a store in 2026, so stay tuned!

How do I get in touch with Blue River Bakery if I have more questions?

We are a small operation right now, so we please ask that prospective customers use the contact form on our homepage. We will get back to you within one business day with any information you need. If you have placed an order with us before then a phone number is provided.
